1991

1991 saw Newport crash out in the first round at Rodney Parde, Newport to S W Police 12-16. Holders Newbridge lost 20-18 to Ebbw Vale after having a 12 pt lead at one stage. Swansea beat Abertillery, Cardiff and Ebbw Vale (S/F) to meet Bridgend who beat Pontypool, Pontypridd and Llanelli (S/F) in the final.

Swansea led 20-0 but then saw Bridgend fight back to 20-18. It then seemed that Bridgend would go into the lead but Rob Howley put a foot in touch as he raced away. An interception try by skipper Ian Davies saved the day for Swansea who won their third final. Chris Bradshaw of Bridgend won the Everson Award after he scored 6 tries on the day.
