1993

1993 saw Newport lose to S W Police 12-24 in the preliminary round but they did at least lose to the eventual winners who went on to make the final for only the second time. They beat Llanelli 26-5 and Bridgend 19-14 on the way. Meanwhile Pontypridd had beaten Cross Keys, Neath and Swansea to reach their first ever final. Wales outside-half Neil Jenkins set a tournament record of 62pts but still finished on the losing side as Pontypridd lost 24-14 to S W Police.

Policeman Richie Collins who had played in finals previously with both Newport and Cardiff won the Everson Award.
